Dearness Allowance (D.A) for Central Government Employees from July 2010

All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the past four month have been published in Labour Bureau website.

All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the month of  April, 2010 remained stationary at 170 (one hundred and seventy). For the past three months from February 2010 to April 2010, the All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) remained stationary at 170.The consumer Price Index Number(CPI-IW) for the month of January 2010 was 172.and the CPI-IW for the month of May and June yet to be announced.

Hence it is very much earlier to predict the D.A hike for the period of July 2010 to December 2010.But it is expected that for the remaining two months (May and June) the CPI-IW Number will be at 170 to 171.If the official CPI-IW index published by Labour Bureau, Department of Statistics, goes along with our expectation for the remaining two months.

  4. in making Grade Pay there is injustice with LDC for upgradation after 10 years Grade Pay is 1900 after 10 years it is only 2000 just Rs.100 to be given to the LDC that is totally wrong it must be changed to 2400 then it will be a good justice to the LDC.

    thanks

Findout the calculation and try yourself with the help of calculator. But you are lucky enough to get 7% D.A from January 2011, which will be announced by government after 15th of March 2011.
    Jan-172,Feb-170,Mar-170,,Apr-170,May-172,Jun-174,Jul-178,Aug-178,Sep-179,Oct-181,Nov-182,Dec-185. DA=[(2111/12)-115.76]*100/115.76=51.966. This 6.966 will be round3ed to 7%. It means 45+7 = 52% from January 2011 onwards. Happy D.A . C.J.Mathews Sankarathil.MBA

sir balachandran nair please ask whether da has been declare or not by the central government

  9. BALACHANDRAN NAIR

All central govt employees and pensioners are very much interested to know the rate of DA/DR whether it is 44 % or 45%. All what I can say is that to recall the bill passed in the Parliament about the increase in the pay and perks of our beloved MPs of both the houses. Then think of DA/DR. It is only an eye wash. Whether any commission required to enhance their salary by about 300%. Whether an employee’s(including soldiers) service is less than that of those of MPs?

  10. Hai there Rakesh the answer to your query is ——-Though there won’t be any mergers of DA reaching 50% with Band Pay + Grade Pay but sure enough whenever DA gets hiked up to 50%, In its wake it will give additional Increase of 25% to Children Education Allowance, Child Care Allowance, Washing Allowance, Cycle Allowance, Cash Handling Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, Split Duty Allowance. Some of the Advances too namely – Flood Advance, Festival Advance also be witnessing 25%age hike.

  11. yes..atleast 10% is needed…bt wen wil it b eventually anounced????waiting eagerly to compensate the pocket holes!!!

  12. can anybody tell me, if the da will be merged with the basic as and when it crosses 50% mark aalongwith simultaneous increase of 25% in all the allowances

  13. October is not much far and answers to Percentage hike as per CPI-IW though speculative between 9% to 10% seems not unreal . it appears the way inflation is bursting seams of a common man’s wallet 10% hike for sure is in the horizon.Expected hike is 10% no less no more i guess .Watch Past indexes on inflation where inflation is not shy of hovering steadily and still somewhat rising on and around the figure 170-174

  14. At present, it is very imporant matter to control the hike price of commodies. It is not important matter to announce the DA.

  15. come mid October and 10% seems to weigh heavy on cards as against the CPI But again 10% in my view does not compensate well but something is better than nothing it is however hands to mouth existence back to square one every six months

  16. Thank goodness subsidies , Interest free loans waivers and what not at least farmers are not ignored but well cared for in most agricultural states of India .Now if the rain Gods play havoc why Government must be blamed and whoever on these posts shows concern about Farmers plight is though quite on a positive humanitarian note but first must appreciate the fact of the facts that since ours is a country with a slogan JAI JAWAN JAI KISSAN it is this slogan that has meaning and depth and if plight of Jawans is heard then equally farmers too are heard and their welfare looked after. And if there is monster of an inflation spiralling and eating in to our economy then there are safe measures which the GOVT IS WELL ACCUSTOMED to and on the defensive right from the word ‘go’ ………..Here is tale of common man the end sufferer and if any one thinks that Government Servants who are salaried and do not fall in that category at all beside all this talk about DA leaving a dent on economy , putting extra burden are simply going berserk and must know that this is how the Government compensates who too is a common and it is not much for the asking .At most times this compensation IS IN PALE CONTRAST TO THE ever skyrocketing prices .with inflation out of control to the point of no return to normalization Demand by the Govt Servant is ever so much more justified .Infact in my point of view how about Govt giving a thought about revising DA every quarter of a calendar year what do you comrades ?

  17. bhanu pratap singh

keeping in view the steep rise in the essential commodities and the petro products it’s justified that the cabinet gives nod to a minimum of 10% hike inthe DA which will still be inadequate for the low salaried employees.

  18. Mr RK JANGIR Sahab….AAp hai na. Jab tak aap jaise log is desh me hain. Farmer safe hai. Yeah one u are there, i do not think any body need to think about the welfare of farmers. But pls let us ensure that our two children and old aged parents do not die of hunger .

  19. Adesh Chand Gupta

10% DA which is expecting from July 2010 is not sufficient as per price rates in the market for common items

  20. Keeping in view the increase in Price Index, DA for central govt. Employees should be declared as 10% rise w.e.f. July,2010

  21. As we are in developing country the rate of DA should increase drastically if we want to be with time…

  22. As per the prices raised during last few months in comparasion to other months, there should be an increment in DA at least 10% i.e. from the existing 35% to 45%.

  23. Vikas Pratap Singh

but when will d news of DA hike be confirmed by Govt.??? and when will we start getting our increased DA ??? Also.. d increased DA of previous months (July-) will be given as lumpsum in d salary of d month of announcement ??

  24. Hi friends.
I just want 2 know that if d salary of M.P. Raised to three times to their present salary then is it justified that in sixth pay commission Central Govt. Employees salary raised by only 35-40%?

  25. All the Compensatory Allowances and Child care Allowance, cycle Allowance, washing allowance shall automatically increase by 25% whenever the D.A goes up by 50%

  26. VINANTI THAKRE

even 10% increase in DA wont be sufficient because of inflation, it should be not less than 25% for central govt employees

  27. m t shilavantar

whether all allowance like hra da etc are going to raised when DA reaches 50% clarify it please.

  28. State Govt. is not giving the allowances as per Central Govt. declarations. Every time State Govt. is reducing the allowances. State Govt. is declaring the allowances very late. It is not giving the arrears also. What can we do in such situations.

  29. As the price rise goes up & up, the DA though it based on the CPI-IW which is connected to the price index, is just adequate to meet the requirements of the Governement Employees. But I do not think it is more. But of course reasonable. At the same time, we should consider the poor people’s difficulties how can they manage the rising prices. But being salaried employees, we can only think of our problems and even a 10% hike in DA would be sufficient? At this time of crisis, the management is going to be a tough one. I believe most of the Govt.employees would be satisfied with the declaration of 10% hike in DA

  30. LOKESH KUMAR MEENA

DA will be hike 10% according to some internal sources.

    LOKESH KUMAR MEENA

  31. Rajesh Chaudhary

How much dearness allowance is due to Central Govt employees with effect from July 2010 to Dec 2010

  32. Hi, friends…
We can expect minimum of 10% increase of D.A from JULY 2010.
So that in early future our D.A Will cross 50% and we can wait for neccessary modifications in the pay band

  33. shashi kant kumar

CPI-IW for the month of MAY is 172 & june is 174 then what will be the D.A. ? for the the month of JULY 10 to DEC 10.

  34. Well if is announced then certainly it will be a little relief for the central govt. employees.

  35. Gvernment has already allowed central public sector undertakings (PSUs) to pay their employees 50 per cent DA with their basic salary in line with the earlier announcement for central government employees. But the new decision comes with a rider that profitable PSUs will have to meet any extra funds required to meet this proposal from their internal resources Now those PSUs which are unable to pay that much simply are not profiting and when no profits comin many of the PSUs will not pay that extra allowance because these PSUs want quotient of profit added to their NAVs thern they can think about 50% disbursement which hardly is the case anywhere

  36. Can any one please tell me that “Is there different DA for Central government employees and PSU employees????” Why DA hike for PSU is only 0.3 % and for Central gov’ employees its 10%??? is it justified???

  37. All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 value for the month of june 2010 has been released by Labour Bureau. The value of the index has increased to 174 level, so the Dearness Allowance for Central Government Employees will be rised 10% and total of 45% (35% + 10%).

  38. Rates of essential commodities are rising rapidly so D.A. hike less than 10% will be discouraging. If Government make sincere attempt to control the prices that will pay more to us but as long as Minister like Sharad Pawar is there, we can not expect any check/ improovemnt in price rise

  39. Speedy hikes in DA, my dear g.servants, will only hamper life of citizens in the un-organzed sectors. We, being in organized sectors, need not worry about ourselves with regard to price rises, but to fight for them against price rise. We should try make every thing organised and bring more citizens into organized. There should be a mechanism to distribute the wealth to the needy by way of subsidized prices to the needy, a mechanism that is being followed by even well developed nations. Then only the unrest the poor will be reduced to some extent.

    agree with me?
    [email protected]

  40. there can’t be any prediction because ministers are always worried about themselves. you see how they increased their monthly salaries 3times more. So just wait and watch crossed fingers………… hope for atleast 10percent hike……

  41. The CPI for June 2010 is announced as 174 and, therefore, the government servants will get a D.A. of 10% w.e.f. July 2010. Is it not good?

  42. Inview of rampant increase of petroleum products followed by consequential increase of various other products of consumable items it is better to declare 10% DA for central Govt employees/pensioners by the Govt to mitigate the prise raise

  43. Pramod Chaudhary

    Blessing in disguise ?
CPI-IW for jun has been published as 174. That makes admissable increase in DA by 10% to 45% from 01 Jul.
    Good news for Govt employees.

  44. As the AICPIN for the month of june 2010 has raised to 174, the DA for cenral govt. employee will be 45% from july 2010.

  45. Pramod Chaudhary

The CPI-IW for May went up to 172 and is expected to remain on higher side for Jun also.
So you can expect min 10% + DA hike.

  46. 9% DA is very good. Since it is meant for meeting inflation, Govt should see that DA is exempted from income-tax.

  47. D,A not to be declare as minimum 10% as basic rate of statewise,
Goverment can be declare as possibility think at market condition

  48. As AICPI for the month of may was 172, so minimum DA increase will be 9% even if AICPI comes down to 160 (in june). For 8% DA increse AICPI for the month of june should come down below 160 which is not possible. If AICPI for the month of june crosses above 174, DA increment will be 10%.

  49. Even if Government declares 10% DA, Government employees won’t be satisfied…..

  50. WHAT ABOUT THE INSTITUTES OR ORGANISATIONS WHERE SIXTH PAY IS NOT YET IMPLEMENTED. WILL YOU PLEASE TELL WHAT WILL BE THE DA FOR THEM FROM JAN-2010 AND WHEN G R WILL BE RELEASED FOR THEM

  51. question is that how many dyas our govt will fight against the inflation by increasing DA ? there is no solution to protect inflation !!!!

  52. S.Basu Roy Chowdhury

D.A hike from July 2010 must be at least 10% but not 9% because the inflation rate is above 16%,I predict & the CPI is also camouflaged to some extent. However this situation is detrimental towards the equilibrium of our countries economy.

  53. D.A. Effective from JULY 2010 must be not less than 10% consedaring the abnormal increase of the prise of essential commodities.

  54. yes, if D.A. will be raised up by 9% then it would get some relief to central government employees due to extra ordinary inflation.

  55. manoj gulati

if 10% DA will declared by the govt that will be good for all of govt employees because the inflation rate is very high

  56. The 9% and more DA increase from July 2010 will be justified and it will give relief to the Central Govt. employees. We must thanks to the Government for compansating with price hike and giving this DA.

  57. P S Shirgure

The 9% DA increase from July 2010 will be justified and it will give relief to the Central Govt. servents. We must thanks to the Government for compansating with price hike and giving this DA.

  58. it is really not enough DA increase at the current situation where we have to expand 30 Rs. for one kg rice. the better to see the reduce of essential elements price by gov but they are………

  59. HITESH GOYAL

Expected DA from July 2010 would be 9% as per the consumer price index. However it is too earlier to reach any correct conclusion about the increasing of DA from July 2010 without declaring Consumer Price Index for the month of May and June 2010. Therefore just wait and hope about atleast 9% expected DA from July 2010.

    Hitesh Goyal

  60. Why DA is not declared immediately on1st Jan and 1St July. Should somebody remind the Government of beg.

  61. In the present hike of prices of essential commodities, educational expenses and medical requirements, atleast 12% hike in DA is must.

  62. If the DA is 9% Govt employees may be happy. Just think about the increase after announcement of the DA wef 1/7/10 and the other poor people. So pressurise the Govt to take steps to reduce the price escalations instead of giving more and more DA.

  63. If the D.A reaches 50% then the allowances including Children Education Allowance,Washing Allowance,Cycle Allowance,Cash Handling Allowance,Conveyance Allowance,Split Duty Allowance will be increased by 25%

  64. Govt. hike salaries their staff as DA two times in a year and a times of increment but Govt. should also increase salaries for private worker for healthy living otherwise no matter ralates to hike salaries their staff. The best option is control over dearnes. Dearness is effecting our life. If Govt. control dearness than hike salaries their staff and staff will be happy.

  65. As the price increases so heavily the Govt. should take initiative to increase the DA at least 12 to 15 percent…otherwise it will be not possible to leave heapily.

  66. Can any one predict the expected DA by Jan 2011, and let me know
which are the allowances will increase to 25% once the DA crosses 50%.

  67. better prices are reduced and education is provided to children 0f government servants upto any stage, than going on hiking salaries,so that a common person is not affected.

  68. DA will be 9% & not more than that. There is nothing to be happy about that, low DA or no DA will result in rise in our real Incomes

  69. P.Krishnakumar

Surely the increase will be 10%, if not less. It may even exceed 12% given the price situation that too in aftermath of the petroleum and diesel price hike. This will have a cascading effect on the price front and the Govt. will be left in the lurch to parry the opposition, why, its own ministers criticism. Hence the CGE unions should be watchful if there is any move on the part of the centre to tamper the price index statistics.

  70. Dear Sir,
Kindly let me know the increase in DA for month of July 2010 for Public sector undertaking officials

    Regards

    KSN Murthy
