DOPT advised UPSC not to insist for Identity Certificate for Appointment Process
Agencies like UPSC has been engaged in the process of selecting the Candidates for appointment in Government Departments. After they finalized the list of selected candidates to be recommended for appointment, the candidates will be asked to fill up the Attestation Forms and they have to provide Identity Certificate Also. On which the exercise of verification of the character and antecedents of the candidates will be done by appointing authority.
Now the DOPT, a Department of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, in its Letter No. No. 18011/2(s)/2016-Estt. (B) dated 8th April 2016, has advised the UPSC not to insist for an Identity Certificate and to dispense away with this provision of including Identity Certificate in Attestation form in future
