The Bombay High Court today expressed serious concern over the cases where a disabled person is given a job, but not provided with the support structure at the workplace.
The Court, which was hearing bunch of PILs regarding implementation of three per cent quota in jobs in government and government-aided organisations for disabled, has now called a meeting of secretaries of social welfare and general administration, commissioner for disability, and various NGOs on January 15.
The High Court had earlier compelled the government to start a recruitment drive for filling up vacancies under the disabled quota, by ordering freeze in employment in other categories.
But a petition filed by one Vandana (name changed), a blind girl who secured job as a typist with city-based Hazarimal Somani College that was heard by the court stated that she was sacked within four months.
