Increasing Retirement age of Central Government employees to 62 years – Government ‘s Reply

News on Retirement age of Central Government employees 

There  was a talk in central government employees news forums that the government is going to increase the retirement age of central government employees from 60 to 62 in this budget session of parliament. But there was no announcement from government about increasing the retirement age of central government employees. In Lok Sabha, in a reply to the question of Shri.Mithlesh MP that whether there was any recommendation to increase the age of retirement of Government employees to 62 years?, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office SHRI V. NARAYANASAMY told ‘NO’.

(a) whether there is any recommendation to increase the age of retirement of Government employees to 62 years;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the age of retirement has also been kept optional; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?
