Retirement age of central govt employees may be increased to 62 years : The Cabinet is likely to consider a proposal to this effect later today.

In the poll year, the central government employees may get a pleasant surprise of an increase in their retirement age to 62 years from 60 years at present.

There are around 50 lakh central government employees in India. The last time, government raised retirement age of central government employees was in 1998– from 58 to 60 years.

Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan are the main assemblies which will go to polls later this year. The general elections are due in 2014.

Like Shri Bajpayee, Shri Modi should increase the retirement age of Central Govt.Employees for 2 years taking into consideration of present mortality age and getting employment in late age.Further,the upper age limit of employment should also be enhanced another 5 years for all categories. But Modi is anti employees & he never talks about employees.
