Date of Next Increment After Promotion pay Fixation- you will get next increment in 6 Months

An important Clarification regarding Date of Next Increment after Promotion Pay Fixation in 6 months, has been issued by Department of Expenditure on 28-11-2019 [ Read this Clarification]

Subsequently Railway Board vide its order dated 18-12-2019, forwarded this Finance Ministry Clarification to its Departments for necessary action.

According to this clarification, Employees those who opted to fix their pay on account of promotion on the date of his annual increment whether on 1st January or 1st July, his /her Date of Next increment ( The first increment in the level in which promotion is made ) shall be granted on the following 1st July or 1st January whichever comes after completion of six months qualifying service in both the cases.

Date of Next increment after Promotion pay Fixation

The DoE Clarification in respect of date of next increment after Promotion pay Fixation is as follows

The first increment in the level in which promotion is made shall accrue on the following 1st January or 1st July, as the case may be, provided a period of 6 months’ qualifying service is fulfilled

So he will be getting his first increment in promotion level after completion of six months service instead of one year. The next increment, thereafter, shall however, accrue only after completion of one year.

This clarification is really beneficial for the Government servants those who opts to fix his pay for promotion on date of next increment.
