Additionally, the project includes the expansion of an existing KV in Shivamogga, Karnataka, by adding two new sections in all its classes. A Nation-Wide Expansion

Spanning urban, rural, and remote locations, these 85 new KVs will cater to regions across states and Union Territories. The expansion of the KV in Shivamogga will further add capacity to accommodate more students, reflecting the government’s commitment to inclusive and equitable education.

Substantial Financial Backing

With a total estimated cost of ₹5872.08 crore over eight years (2025–2033), the project includes:

• Capital Expenditure: ₹2862.71 crore
• Operational Expenditure: ₹3009.37 crore
• This significant allocation underscores the government’s dedication to building robust educational facilities.

Boost to Employment

This initiative isn’t just about education; it’s also a major employment generator. The project will create 5,388 permanent jobs, encompassing teaching and administrative roles. Furthermore, the construction and development phases will provide opportunities for skilled and unskilled workers.

Benefitting Future Generations

These schools are expected to cater to 82,560 new students, adding to the existing 13.56 lakh students enrolled across 1,256 functional KVs. The inclusive model ensures that children from transferable Central Government and Defence employee families, floating populations, and underdeveloped areas have access to quality education.
