21 percent DA from January 2020

As per the prescribed formula to calculate the rate of DA from January for Central Government Employees, it is estimated that 21 percent DA will be paid from 1^st January 2020

AICPIN for 11 months from January 2019 to November 2019 were released. December 2019 yet to be released.

DA from January

It is noticed that total fluctuation from the beginning of this year to till date in respect CPI Number is maximum +3 points and no decrease recorded.

According to the average AICPIN Numbers for the past 12 Months,  4 % DA hike is confirmed from 1.1.2020. So, 21% DA will be paid to central Government Employees from 1^st January 2020. To change this estimation, it requires AICPIN to increase by 21 Points and decrease by 12 Points to get 22% DA or 20% DA respectively

It is expected there will not be any increase beyond 3 Points for the month of December 2019. Hence rate of DA will be increased by 4% from 17% to 21% with effect from 1.1.2020
