PESB Taking interview for Posts of CPSEs
Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) follows the laid down eligibility criteria as per job description and the rules and procedures which are reviewed from time to time as per the Government policy on selections to the Board level positions in CPSEs. PESB has fixed a ceiling of 15 candidates for each selection meeting who are taken from CPSEs, Central Organized Services, State PSUs/ State Government and Private Sector based on the seniority. In view of it, some candidates, though eligible to be considered for the post, may not be called for the selection interview.
As per Government Resolution dated 3rd March, 1987 as amended from time to time, the Board is responsible for the selection and placement of personnel in the posts of Chairman, Managing Director or Chairman-cum-Managing Director (Level-I) and Functional Director (Level –II) of Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) as well as posts at any other level as may be specified by the Government. PESB Board lays down criteria for shortlisting the candidates for interview.
This was stated by Shri V. Narayanasamy, Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office in written reply to a question by Shri Ram Kripal Yadav in the Rajya Sabha today.
