DoPT Extended the Timelines for Recording of PARS for the year 2023-24 – This is Final ! No Remarks may be recorded after 31st December 2024 !

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued an Office Memorandum (OM No.F. No.11059/03/2024-AIS-III) on 31st July 2024, extending the timelines for the recording of Performance Appraisal Reports (PARs) for the year 2023-24. This extension aims to provide additional time for officials to complete and submit their PARs, ensuring thorough and accurate documentation of performance assessments. The revised deadlines will help accommodate any delays or challenges faced in the preparation of these reports. All concerned officers are advised to adhere to the new timelines as specified in the OM.

Extension of Timelines for Recording of PARs

It has been brought to the attention of the concerned Ministries and Departments that some All India Service (AIS) officers have not yet submitted their self-appraisal for the Performance Appraisal Reports (PARs) for the year 2023-24. Additionally, some officers may not be able to review and record their remarks in the PARs. This issue persists despite previous notifications issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) via letters dated 27th May 2024 and 28th June 2024, which extended the timelines for recording PARs.

After careful consideration of the situation, the DoPT has decided to further extend the Timelines for Recording of PARs by 15 days. The revised timelines are as follows:

It is important to note that, in accordance with the 2nd proviso of the AIS (PAR) Rules, 2007, as amended, no remarks may be recorded after 31st December 2024 for the PAR of AIS officers for the PAR year 2023-24. This extension is final, and all officers must ensure that their PARs are completed and submitted within this period.
