Ex-servicemen protest over one-rank one-pension issue
Over 2000 ex-servicemen today held a protest in the capital demanding “one-rank one-pension” and submitted a memorandum to President Pratibha Patil in this regard.
“We have been demanding one-rank one-pension for the last 26 years. Constitution of Ex-servicemen Commission having ex-servicemen as its members and separate Pay Commission are some of our other demands for consideration,” said retired Lt Gen Raj Kadyan, Chairman of Indian ESM Movement.
He said the demonstrators, including the family of the ex-servicemen, also submitted over one lakh signatures in blood to lodge their protest.
“We have been representing to all authorities but they have not yet accepted the recommendations of the All Party Standing Committee on Defence tabled in the Lok Sabha on May 7 strongly recommending the grant of one-rank one-pension to the defence personnel,” he added

My Dear Ex-service colleagues,
Here is a latest news. It is known that the Defense Minister had personally met the Honorable Prime Minister and pursued him to consider some of the burning issues pertaining to the personnel of his Ministry concerned. On his pursuance, the Prime Minister had constituted, a six-member committee, comprising the Cabinet Secretary (as its Chairman), with 1.the Defense Secretary, 2.the Secretary of Dept. of Ex-Servicemen’s Welfare, 3. the Secretary of Dept. of Personnel and Training, 4. the Secretary of Fiance(Dept. of Expenditure) and 5. the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister (as its members)after Rajya Sabha’s Committee on Petitions last year recommended granting OROP to the retired defence personnel. The Government has asked the committee to submit its report by 08 Aug ’12 and the Prime Minister wanted to make a grand buzz from the ramparts of theRed Fort on August 15 and therefore the deadline of August 8th.
What is the progress of the one rank one pension for the Ex-serviceman of Assam Rifles
hope it will be agreed to and justice will come to us soon.
only one comment ARMY Very service very hard, again no comment.
Thanks.
goi letter dated 8 mar 10 has ignored the hon comm officers in the three services. they have not considered the hon comm retirees post 1953 and pre 1.1.96 although the same category retired pre 1953 and post 1.1.96 have been given improved pension. this is not justified and requires clarification. i hope that this may be looked into by the authorities so that the justice is extended equally to all the hony comm offrs who retired post 1953 and pre 1.1.96.
The Govt should understand that when a young boy is drawn to Military services & made to learn any thing & every thing of military untill they are retired at whatever length of service they put up, become so much ignorant about civil lives that they are not able to get properly accomodated & hence their living conditions fall much below an average Civilian & that is really very hurting & disrespecting. Thus ex service-men need a good amt of pension & that can be through acceptance of OROP demand.
Is it not voilation of article 14 and natural justice which is enshiren in our contitution? This voilation of fundamental rights has to be taken up in highest judicial forum, which is only last hope for poor ESMs.
its honour is at stake when government revoke its responsibility to defense personal causes who after dedicated long service has to wait to get what is legitimate ,under ceratin circumstance defense personal has to go through the regular grind of bureacracy, politics and in democracy where you are brooded not to question an order but to follow , the same is not reciprocated in retired life………..the apathy is pathetic and utter shame. i hope the government wakes up in time .
How about the civilian pensioners who have rendered service in the same condition like Army and are paid from Defence accounts? Is Govt. considering their case also for one Rank one Pension?
I support the demand of Ex-Army persons for one Rank pension. How about the pensioners from Para military forces and civilians paid who have rendered service in the same condition like Army. Has any body also recommended their case to the Govt?
Let the servicemen clearly spell out as to their demand and the reservation the govt have for accepting.
