How to Calculate One Day salary for Central Government Employees

As Ministries and Departments have requested to contribute one day salary to PM CARES Fund, now Central Government Employees want to know How to Calculate One Day salary

There are 35 lakhs Central Government Employees covered under CCS Revised (Pay Rules) 2016.

Recently the Ministries/Departments have requested all the employees to contribute one day salary to PM CARS fund to fight aginst the COVID 19 Coronavirus pandemic.

The one day salary has been recovered from the Central Government employees Salary by Many Ministries and Departments to donate to PM CARES Fund

Salaries are paid by organizations to their employees in exchange for the services rendered by them. The salary paid to employees comprises of a number of different components, such as basic salary, allowance, perquisites, etc.

Here the Allowances are not taken into account for calculation of one day salary. Only basic Pay is taken for calculation of one day salary  

Hence the amount of one day salary is arrived using this formula

Basic Pay / 30 

In the Bonus calculation the factor 30.4 is used to calculate one day salary. This 30.4 is derived from 365 Days /12.

Hence using Basic pay /30 is the common formula to calculate one salary for any purpose.
