The Department of Expenditure, through its ID Note No.2/5/2017-E.II(B) Pt, dated 04.08.2021, has provided crucial clarification. According to this clarification, no separate order is deemed necessary for the increase in HRA when DA reaches the stipulated level i.e 25% and 50% Level. The directive from the Department of Expenditure dated 07.07.2017 has laid out explicit guidelines concerning the augmentation of HRA corresponding to the escalation of DA.

The ramifications of this clarification are significant for various departments. It eliminates the need for departments to await a separate order for increasing HRA rates to the final slab. With the DA reaching the stipulated thresholds of 25% and 50%, the HRA increase automatically comes into effect. Streamlining Administrative Procedures

As per the above Clarification , Now the Department has to increase the HRA rates to 10%, 20% and 30% as the rate of DA reached 50% Level w.e.f 1.1.2024 without waiting for further Orders
