Restructuring CBI
A Consultant from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi was appointed by the Government to study the needs of CBI Branches including Comprehensive Modernization, Upgradation, Capacity Building and Computerisation. The consultant submitted his comprehensive report in May, 2008. On the basis of the report, CBI has issued orders for restructuring and up-gradation of CBI Branches. Government has also taken various steps to upgrade the infrastructure including buildings and offices of CBI, CBI Academy and Regional Training Centres, office automation system to provide for capacity building of CBI officers & staff.
The Government has granted Special Incentive Allowance @ 25% of Pay to executive officers upto the level of Senior Superintendent of Police and @ 15% for officers above that rank in CBI.
Efforts have been made to make the CBI more efficient and effective. The grant of Special Incentive allowance to the executive staff of CBI has motivated them to work hard to achieve the objectives of the organisation and has attracted talented officers to join CBI on deputation.
This information was given by Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and the Prime Minister’s Office, Shri V. Naraynasamy in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
