Date of Constitution of 8th Pay Commission latest News

The announcement for constitution of 7th Pay Commission was made on 25th September 2013. So we may expect the present Government will make announcement for constitution of 8th Pay Commission in the year 2023.

Constitution of 8th Pay Commission

The 8th Pay Commission recommendation has to be implemented with effect from 1.1.2026. So sufficient time to be given to the 8th Pay Commission to make its recommendation on 8th pay commission salary structure and revision of pay and allowances of Central Government Employees.

Pay Commission took 18 Months to submit report

On 25 September 2013 then Finance Minister P Chidambaram announced that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has approved the constitution of the 7th Pay Commission.

Seventh Pay Commission, was set up on 8th February 2014.Justice Ashok Kumar mathur was the Chairman for the 7th Central pay Commission. The Commission submitted its report on 19th November 2015 and the recommendations came into effect on 1st January 2016

Sixth Pay Commission Chairman

The Sixth Pay Commission, headed by justice B.N. Srikrishna, was constituted on 5 October 2006. It submitted its report on 24 March 2008, but its recommendations were implemented retrospectively from 1st January 2006

8th Pay Commission dates

Hence the 8th Central Pay Commission to be constituted in the year 2023 as it was done by the previous government in 2013 to implement seventh pay commission recommendation in 2016 .

Constitution of 8th Pay Commission : As the Pay and Allowances have to be revised with effect from 1.1.2026, all are expecting that the present Government will appoint the 8th Pay Commission in 2023.

The Pay and allowances of central Government employees shall be revised every ten years. So the 8th Pay Commission to be constituted in right time to implement its recommendation without any delay beyond 1.1.2026.
